Hiya all,,, Looking to keep the load light, & need a decent, not very expensive, Stereo mic.... So far, I've only seen the Audio Technica AT822, but I'm not sure if it excels at recording acoustic guitars & vocals, as much as it does for field work?
Something that could do well also w/electric guitars (not too loud)....
Thanks for amy & all suggestions.
Stay safe & be well~

Honestly, you are better off buying a matched pair along with a T-Bar to mount them on. It will give you a lot more flexibility:

The option to adjust the positioning to your liking / stereo width. The option to have two mono mics. The option to record other instuments that have a wide stage, such as piano or choirs. The option to use the mics as drum overheads, spaced out. etc. etc.

Rode M5 at 160 Euros a pair seems reasonable, add a few euros for a T-Bar and all good :)

Of course, if your budget allows, the sky is the limit. A nice pair of AKG 414's is hard to beat, but expensive. Used these for years. Brilliant.

However, also had a stack of Rode microphones, and they always brought a smile for performance vs cost.
