Recording on the M12 in DAW mode possible?

Here's the problem: we want to record guitars and a bass on our Tascam Model 12, but also would like to use some amp plugin in Cubase, because we'd like to hear the sound of the effects and amplifiers in session.

Is that possible? The alternative would be, to record it 'dry' on the Tascam, or record it on our computer, using the effects there. But we would prefer the option in this possible, if there's a way.

In DAW mode the Model 12 works like a MIDI controller and its mixer/multitrack functions are unavailable. Your goal is easily achieved in normal operation whereas the Model 12 sends live input signals over USB to the computer; from there you can apply effects at send individual channels back to the Model 12 like you would do with a regular effects rack. That sounds good, thanks a lot! Yes, i will read more here in the forums. Just wanted to be prepared quickly, since we maybe have our first track recorded this week. I have some othe basic tracks prepared already, now we would add some real instruments like bass and guitars. Very much appreciated!
