SD card question

I have the very old 2488 original. I am thinking of getting the DP24 and I see that it uses SD cards. My question...does it store your songs in multitrack format? So If I record let's say 10 tracks, and I save it to SD card, it stores as 10 tracks separately and if I take it out and put it back in later it is still 10 tracks?

The 14 or so individual videos created by moderator Phil Tipping in the sticky thread "Tutorial and Informational Videos For DP-32/24/32SD/24SD" is an excellent and easy to follow walk through of all the features and functions of the DP-24/32/SD portastudio.

I highly recommend watching them.

Thank you guys. I will get right on that. I've been toying with the idea of computer recording, but that would require a lot more investment of both money AND time. So I think the DP24 is the way to go for me, and I'll do some serious watching and learning now that I know the answer to my most basic question.

"Computer recording" is a real departure - it's like of a different flavor of ice cream - still great, but definitely different. And if you're seasoned on the 2488, the transition to the DP is gonna be waaaaay easier for you (I speak from experience: I was on all 3 incarnations of the 2488, for about 15+ years, before going to the O/G DP-32 about 3 yrs ago. A few work-flow adjustments aside, it was a no-brainer).
As opposed to my forays into "computer recording"/DAW solutions...which (as mentioned) are remarkably capable, flexible, etc...but caused me a lot of heartache, to the point that I had days where I had to decide whether to try to finish a project, or go sleep on the railroad tracks. JMHO!

As mentioned - the Sticky Threads are just a truckload of vital info; the vids are also excellent ('cuz of the visual reinforcement); even the O/M will answer a loooot of ?'s.
And if all that doesn't get you there - you can always ask here for answers you can't find.
