Sticky faders & knobs

Tascam DP-32 - haven't used it for a little while but came back to it recently & a lot of the rubber fader tops and some of the knobs now feel 'sticky' to the touch. Had this problem yourself? Anyone know how to get rid of this? I think if I washed them in soap & water they'd just get stickier?

....thanks for the response! The answer in my case was rub them with baby powder then wipe off the residue with a clean, totally dry cloth - worked great!
