sx1 hardware

Is it true that there is an earlier version of hardware in certain sx-1's that won't support any software above V1.10

as I have been told that one of my sx-1's has earlier version hardware

but my other sx- 1 has upgraded without problems to V1.52

both machines were operating on V1.00 when I first bought them

has anybody got for sale or know where I can get a late motherboard for my sx-1
as I believe the early motherboards won't take version 1.52 os
