Hey folks, first time posting here. Ive got a DM3200 for the past year and its honestly the best thing ever, I've been slowly getting it set up and learning its quirks and whatnot ever since, whenever I have free time.

Currently I've got it controlling REAPER via USB midi. the transport controls all work, everything is good there. It's been bugging me that the upper bar of the display isnt reflecting the actual position in the song in reaper. I've spent the past couple of hours screwing around with this.

I am currently trying to just use regular old mtc from reaper to the board via usbmidi, but nothing. Earlier i was trying to get the smpte out from my emu1010 daughter sync board into the smpte in on the dm3200, but I think thats not really what those are for.

If someone could walk me through the steps needed in reaper and in the DM3200, that would be appreciated,

Also if anyone has any suggestiuons of what to do with the sync card, im all ears.

Thanks everyone!

Hi
I got around this by 'inserting' SMPTE LTC/MTC Timecode Generator onto an empty track in a new session and dragging it out to a stupid length (2 hours or so!) I then saved the session as a project template and then assigned this project template to be the default when I open Reaper. There's a bunch of other stuff in my template as well, but this is always the last track, at the bottom. Works for me.

Presuming you are sending valid SMPTE/LTC audio or MIDI Time Code (MTC), go to the DM's AUTOMATION - SETUP menu page.

Set the SYNC SOURCE to TC IN or MTC IN (based on whether you want the DM’s TC input or MIDI Time Code to be the master). Set all the other little details like frames and the start time to match the sync source you are using.

If you are using MIDI Time Code, you also need to set the MIDI - SETUP page's settings properly to be sure the MTC is routed to the DM’s sync appropriately.

I’m not a Reaper user currently so I can’t give any advice on the DAW side for Reaper. Enjoy!
