Hi I resume the situation and give my conclusion
My MX-2424 is blocked during initialization after Boot message (Programm load from flash memory).
The welcome message is displayed, "
TASCAM MX-2424
(c) TimeLine 2000
Digital TDIF board initialized, volume mount did not start, blocked.
Works if I boot 1 time disconnecting the Digital I/O board (Analog I/O could stay connected, no impact), then reboot with Digital I/O board connected!! MX-2424 works perfectly when booted, digital or analog, at 48 or 96K
After investigation:
- THis is a problem on the mother board
--> An interrupt signal is not properly acknoledged on P processor.
- Digital I/O board initialization is OK (confirmed testing with a spare board; same result); no error during FPGA initialization.
- 256K memory is OK (confirmed testing with a spare memory DIMM module; same result)
Seems an Software issue (produce by ?? )...
A mention in previous post, I stop investigation as it works perfectly with a work arround:
- I boot one time cutting the CLK in the DIGITAL I/O interface, after 6s, I connect the clock and reboot.
THis is automaticaly done using a Teensy/arduino board and Reed relay on the CLK signal and direct connection to RST/ signal on the mother board.
I start to wrote a Service manual for the MX-2424. It is at "Draft" level, not terminated. If you are interested, send me a private message. I will send you a copy.
Enjoy music...
