TASCAM FW-1804 and Windows 8

Hello there!
Is there anyone who s using this model in windows 8? In windows 7 were everything ok, but i have problems in windows 8, and there is no driver for this... Any help somebody please?

I have a 1884, so I don't know about your model, but there are reports of success for the FW-1884 under Windows 8.

Tascam announced after they reluctantly made the driver for Windows 7 64-bit that they would do no more updating of drivers for the FW-1884. Check the Tascam website to see if support for your model is also discontinued.

I'm using FW1804 in Windows 10 , it took a load of work to get it working, but it seems pretty solid now, I'm guessing this problem applies to win8.

The problem seem to be Microsoft removing the 'firewire stack' (no, me neither) from 8 onwards. You can download this from
