Tascam US-1200 drop outs playback cutting out

I hate to be a newbie here and ask something someone else has already perhaps done, I searched for a while
all I can find is marketing info on the darn thing, I have a new PC windows 7 and trying the Sonar LE
the whole rig is brand new, what happens is the sound playback quits and I have to power cycle the unit to get it back, I am close to returning it

I had similar problem with my US-2x2 until an updated driver has been released.
Now the audio playback works fine, but I still have problems with high latency and glitches in REAPER.
It's a shame they release an untested device with faulty drivers.
