I'm not per say a guitarist, bassist, drummer, singer, or keyboardist. I just can't pick up any instrument and just shred.
I'm completely blank unless I have a written a song which then I begin to figure out what notes, chords or beat that corresponds with the song.
It's a very strange way to go about producing a song however it's how I approach my creative process. If anything I'm a song writer but if I have no song, I have nothing. So that's why I say the song is the key.
