Upgrading PC with DM4800

I am just about to upgrade my PC to run Cubase 10 and Windows 10. I am concerned that in doing so I may well be creating some headaches. Is there anything I need to be wary of?

My most notable concern is that some pcs dont employ PCI Card slots and the IFFWDM Mark II requires a VIA 1394 firewire card. Is anyone out there successfully integrated with the modern world without the 1394 card?

@kelvinrobbo Perhaps you can post a question here on the forum asking the other members what motherboard they recommend. I know for a fact that some motherboards come with an integrated fire wire interface. I know because I use one that does and have had no issues communicating with my 4800 thus far.

Thanks for the reply. It is reassuring to know that the DM4800 is functioning without the old PCI firewire card. What motherboard are you using?

@kelvinrobbo I am using an older ASUS motherboard. Model #: P6T Not even sure if it is still available. I am sure that you can find something a little more recent.

For anyone interested I am using an Asus z390 board with a cheap VIA chipset card...functions superbly.
