TASCAM US 122L
Hi,

Problem:
I'm unable to record MIDI with my US-122L interface in Cubase. Doesn't work with my keyboard, nor my electronic drum. I have no input, I press keys but nothing happens in cubase.

Specs:
Cubase 5.1.0
Windows 10 Home
Tascam US-122L
Roland TD4

Old Yamaha Keyboard

Details:
I have successfully installed the US-122 drivers. I am able to use it as my soundcard, and I'm able to record audio with it (through mic connection and jacks).

MIDI cable is in my keyboard OUT, and Tascam IN port. (I've also tried other ports with out success)
When it's plugged in, the "MIDI IN" light on my Tascam blinks red, and it reacts when I thouch a key of drum pad.

Cubase
  • "Device Setup" everything seems correctly set up.
  • "MIDI Port settings": Both in and out ports are shown and active.
  • "MIDI Track" input is correctly set up, output as well
I also have a MIDI-USB cable as shown below. With this cable I can record MIDI with both my drum and my keyboard. So the problem is definetely the US122L interface.

Has anyone had this problem before?
In attachment pictures of my set up, drivers and other stuff.

Thanks!!

Ehm, I do notice one thing: your MIDI channel in Cubase for EZdrummer is 1. I assume your Roland TD4 sends drum data out on MIDI channel 10? Otherwise everything looks fine.

Hi Arjan,
I'm not sure what you mean... Could you clarify?
Thx!

OK, so in this picture, '2018-06-02_115152-jpg', you see in the Cubase Inspector under 1-ezdrummer the number '1' which indicates MIDI channel 1. I would expect that to be '10' for drum data over MIDI.

Hi Arjan,

Just checked it. I tried all the channels, no difference :(

Hey Lloyd,
I have the same problem, tho with another DAW... but that doesnt matter... i also dont get midi trough into my DAW. the Midi IN led burns when i press keys on my midi controller.. but no Midi OUT.

Have you been able to solve this? Or did you just get another interface, like i am considering now even while i dont have the money for it ;)

Hy, I have the same issue as Assink on my pc.
Although on my laptop it is working well. I just can not figure out what kind of thing is different, both devices have Win10. Tascam Us-122L my interface.
I need to make the PC work, that is my main workstation. I use Reaper. Settings exactly the same.
Can any of you help?
King regards, Sandor

Hello Lads, I am having the same problem, but the midi port setup page shows empty, I have installed the driver many time but still doesn't show anything in the midi port setup page. However the audio signal through the US-122L is working perfectly.

Thanks in advance
