US-16x08 causing blue screen on Win 7 64bit

Brand spanking new 1608. Grabbed the drivers and installed them on a Samsung quad core i-7 laptop running windows 7 64bit Sp1. Upon plugging the 1608 into any USB (2.0 and 3.0 alike) port the system begins to install the driver then quickly blues screens and does a memory dump. Once windows recovers it does show the interface in the attached devices list, however it is not recognized by the Tascam software and shows "No Device" in the interface area of the control panel including no AISO driver. Windows is completely up to date. No firewall blocker or port blocking software of any kind is running.

My existing interface connects and works properly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am on the verge of returning the unit.
