Hi, there. My Tascam US 16x08 has been getting light use in my studio rack for about three years. But out of nowhere, it just failed completely :-( When it powers up, I get a Windows pop-up saying "One of the USB devices connected to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
This PC is on Windows 7. I was on the v1.04 driver, so I tried un-installing and re-installing v1.04, but this didn't fix it. So I un-installed v.1.04 and installed the latest (v2.11) but I get the same Windows error. I've never updated the firmware.
Has anyone else experienced this and been able to resolve it? It doesn't seem to be a driver issue. Sure looks like the 16X08 itself has failed. :-( And after three years, I probably can't expect a replacement from Tascam. Jeez... :-(
