US-2x2 Not registering audio when using it as Default microphone in windows 8.1

Hi,
My US-2x2 Not registering audio when using it as Default microphone in windows 8.1 . Output is just fine and i know the device is getting the audio because i can hear it when I switch the monitor balance to input. Anyone got any ideas what to do?

ended up getting it to work however updated to Windows 10. Output is fine Input will not regitster In windows audio service.

Okay I was able to narrow down some stuff. It seems that not matter what I do. As long as the US-2x2 isn't the default playback device it will register the sound it the recording pane. But as soon as I switch it back to the default playback device recording will not work hardly ever. It seem to work randomly under those conditions. Playback is never not working as long as it's the default device obviously.
