Using DM 4800 with Logic Pro X intermittent connection problem

I've been running the DM4800 with Digital Performer for years without a problem. I'm now doing a couple of projects in Logic Pro X... the latest version and am having intermittent problems connecting with the DM. Sometimes it works fine and then it will lose connection and the channels won't be available even though the DM shows up and is selected in Audio Preferences.
Is there a way to make it reconnect?
Quitting and restarting Logic doesn't fix it, but a reboot of the Mac sometimes does.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The only similar problem that I've encountered with the newest version of Logic was that Logic started sending MTC to "ALL" midi ports by default instead of only the DM's MTC port. Everything started out fine, but eventually the DM would get into midi-overload from all of the MTC code and start to lock up. Check the setting under Synchronization/Midi.
