Vampires on model 12

I was watching some of the videos about the firmware update that allows vaping, I mean vamping. I suppose there is a reason they did not want to call it the more modern well known term looping. So this is only on the 12 and a playback only feature, no way to buss to a set of tracks and mix/record live on the machine, you'd have to buss to an external recorder and bounce back? Most of the videos I've watched look like they are manually punching in and out, is there a way to dial in or fine tune the in out points for the loop?

Page 57 of the manual describes how to add vamp in/out points.
You can dial them in accurately using the jog wheel. Up to 10 sets can be programmed in a single song.
I’ve used the feature a few times and it works well for rehearsing sections.
