Adding plugins to tracks from model 16 and returning the tracks to the model 16 for mixdown

Hello! First post here so please let me know if I’m messing anything up. What I am trying to do is add some plugins to a few tracks on my 16 with Reaper and put them back on the 16 so I can mix down on the tascam itself. Can I just drag and drop the individual tracks from the MTR folder into reaper, add the plug ins/effects I want, then drag them back into the MTR folder and be ok? Or is there a better way of doin this? My firmware is update me and I have the drivers downloaded, I’m working on Mac with Big Sur as the OS.
