1608 USB connection loss

    Tascam 16x08 USB
    Hello. My son just got a 16x08 USB interface. When he connects to his mac book, the usb connection drops off after any time from 10 seconds to several minutes.
    Tried new cables, reloaded driver, different mics.
    Running mas OS Monterey 12.4
    Logic is the recording software.
    Any ideas?
