2488Neo USB storage question.

Good to find this forum up and running again.

My question is this: can I use Windows 7 or 8 for backing up data from the Neo? On page 8 of the manual it states:

This unit can be connected to computers using one of the
following operating systems

Microsoft: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista
Apple: Mac OS 9.2, Mac OS X 10.2 or later

If you are using Mac OS 9.0x or 9.1x, we recommend
upgrading to OS 9.2 or later. Drivers are unnecessary.
The unit will appear as a removable disc.

Does the last sentence pertain to Microsoft or just Apple?

It works in Microsoft - just connect the USB as per the instructions in the manual.
You do need to complete the back up first and then transfer the file to the FAT partition - then transfer to the PC (going from memory here) Very easy but can be time consuming
