Can you use DM-24 stand alone?

Hello,

I have a DM-24 that doesn't seem to want to route signals through to the buses. Going through the setup manual and quick start guide seems to indicate that I need external recorders or tape machines? I do not have those. Is this why I can't get signals to the buses?

Yup, u can - hope you have had some luck figuring it out already but if not, first of all make sure u are using the proper terms. If u have sound sources coming in the mic/line inputs or on the returns (which can be adat, tdif or slot) you need to assign them to the Dm-24 channels using the “IO” and “assign” buttons to the,right of the screen (note the bottom row of buttons for the various sections like 1-16, 17-32 etc) , and then once the io is set, u select those channels and use the “assign” button to the left of the screen to assign the channels to the buss pairs. Then, if u bring up the master layer, the signal from those channels should be present at the busses you and whose faders are up. Good luck!
