Sorry to hear your DR-05 didn't come with an O/M (even sorrier if you're unable to read it! 😜)

I'm no expert here - I've never even seen a DR-05x...and I wouldn't choose a ModelXX if I was at gunpoint.

But my quick look at the DR's O/M online shows: the DR has instructions for connection to computers on p.12; it appears to me that the cable you'd use is determined by having a Micro-B USB on the DR end, and whatever the USB connection is on yr MacBook.
But that's just my interpretation, bein' a "readin' man"...😁

Good luck -

Seems you're the one that's not a "readin' man" .. (haha emoticon)

My question was asking specifically about the specific cable from the specific supplier that I specifically pasted in my question.

The manual does not provide this. It just gives lame, general info that does not guarantee I won't end up buying several different cables before getting the one that works.

Good luck

Um...if you meant I didn't parse your post in order to read your mind/interpret your intentions: GUILTY.

If you meant I didn't cater to your wanting others to assess whether a certain cable product meets your equipments' requirements - GUILTY.

But - like most people - the less a person is interested in helping themselves, the less interested I am in helping them...sorry...

The TASCAM DR-05X manual specifies a Standard USB 2.0 Type-A to Micro-B data cable, yes? The important words there are "data cable". Use whatever connectors match the equipment. USB is backward compatible, yes?

Update to the most current firmware, and don't cheap out on the cable, or you may come to regret it. ;)

This.
If a cable isn't designated/rated for data - it's just a phone-charging cord.

But IMHO, pointing this out is like telling someone which end of a microphone to sing into...
