I have just bought a roland digi kit....the guy in the shop give me two jack leads, do I need jack too midi leads to record in stereo or can use to inputs and just pan left and right?

Use the audio cables to the inputs of your recorder

I have an Alesis set, I plug right into inputs 1 & 2 , pan center. I set my stereo pan settings in the head of the Alesis , not the DP, so your Roland head should have setting for your pan for the stereo spread of the drums, make your pan settings there, it works good for me. Now IF, you want the whole drums to be on 1 side, set your DP-24 pan to that perticular side.
