digital in/out on the us 1800

hello there. back again! have one more question while im finally figuring out the more un-used parts of my year-old setup. today i was looking into ways to expand my us 1800 and came across the behringer ada8000. it uses optical adat and i was wondering if you put a converter between the coaxial digital i/o of the us 1800 and the optical i/o of the ada8000, would that work? would it work as if i had all the right i/o in the first place?

The ADA8000 uses ADAT (=8 channels). Spdif can do only 2 channels. So no it won't work I'm afraid.
