DP-02 Gifted with HDD Error 20

A friend gave me a Tascam DP-02 and said the only thing that was wrong was the hard drive. I took it apart and found the exact drive on the internet. Bought it, installed it, held down the Track Edit and Up button while powering on. I get the init screen which asks me if I want to proceed. I select Yes and almost immediately get an HDD Error 20. I suspect the new drive was not formatted.

How can I format a Hard Drive in the Tascam DP-02? If it can't be done could I take it to a PC shop and have them put a format on it? Do you know what the format is for DP-02 HDD?

Hello Michael Silvernail. If you happen to belong to the site and have found a solution to formatting the hard drive on the DP02 I would be interested in the details for the installed drive and how you managed the reformat if you were able to get it done.

Did anyone resolve this? Can you put a larger hard drive in? How do you prepare drive? Does the DP-02 format and partition the drive?
