Sorry that the Euro-chemicals took your lettering off - who would've seen that coming? - but good to hear it worked for you.
I haven't used it (yet) - but I have heard NOTHING but glowing reviews of the real DeOxit stuff. It's very pricey, but apparently worth every nickel.
And - FWIW - it's my recollection that most such chemicals DO have that warning in that microscopic print on the label - "test in an inconspicuous place"...
And - FYI: "a bag of pucks" is a pro-hockey metaphor for something of little value...meaning if you bet someone a bag of pucks (and are certain of winning the bet) - it's not going to cost them much...
