I bought a DR‑70D to replace my H4N and the input levels are confounding. No matter what I do I get such a high noise floor using a wireless mic that its worthless. I tried two different wireless microphones (Sennheiser and Lectronsonic) from two different manufacturers and both are the same. If I plug in a shotgun or hand held microphone its clean.
Both wireless are configured to work with the H4N and a Sony Professional video camera and regardless of the output levels on the wireless receiver it still stinks.
I tried Tascam support but they have not responded. Is the DR‑70D just a worthless piece of trash?
Any ideas?
