DR-05X

I have a Tascam Dr-05X and i'm trying to record to the input from my turntables, but i can;t turn off the external mics. Can anybody please advise what I need to do?

Same issue here, the internal mics should be disabled when you plug in the 3.5 jack into the ext input.. a design fault.??..

isn't there a 'rec mode' button? on my dr40 that's where I select which inputs or internal mics I want.

Nope.. no choice available.. but the record level seems to be reduced by a large amount, so the internal mics input is very low compared to the external mics input. it’s kind of like adding atmos to the main audio but without the ability of the mix level..
Design fault I reckon...
