DR 07 mk 11.....5 second auto record nightmare wont switch off-help

Hi folks, hope someone can help before I try this email I saw elsewhere which I haven't written to yet

so I bought this recorder mainly for birdsong and it's been sitting in a drawer for many months.I see the 5 second issue is noted elsewhere on the net and someone even made a YT video of how to turn off the auto record feature.However on mine it says auto rec in it's own box and it is not accessible to turn off.I have reset to factory standard and it still stays on.Hmmmmm

can anyone help--thanks in advance

ahhhh so it's like the double slit experiment kind of.The device won't work properly until you post a thread in here acknowledging it's fault.It just recorded for 30 seconds for the first time ever.How utterly bizarre.Trying once more.Thank you tascamforums-I don't know how you did it but ------MAGIC ;-)
