Sorry if this has been mentioned on here before but I am really struggling with this issue!
I use a Tascam DR-40x for recording bird sounds, particularly at night for many hours at a time for a practice called nocmig, it is where you use your recorder to figure out what is migrating at night. I have used a couple of Tascam DR-40X for this purpose for a few years now with no issue. However on my recent trip to Spain two of them have started to stop recording after five seconds when it then switches into stand-by mode! I have the settings set to 'New File' after 60mins (which is what I have always done) and pre-record is turned off. I have tried factory resets, new batteries, new memory cards etc.
I was about to send one of the Tascam DR-40x off to get it looked at but now two are doing it! Any help greatly appreciated.
