Hello, until the job I'm doing those days, the fact that the gain of XLR in was not selectable to level 0 but even ever present was not a problem... until this job. I was using 2 beyerdynamic mce85 to record precise sounds from two directions on XLR1 and XLR2 and simultaneously using the line out to a Sony Pxw-x70's XLR channel 2, whilePxw-x70's channel 1 has rodelink HF module. And - cherry top on cake - all in a live streaming.
I was really unable to set a correct mix between the 2 microphones because of the "transparency" and no level to zero adjustable. The bargraph was in this case absolutely non usable, even with the monitoring headphones, the correct mix was impossible.
I know the Tascam is NOT a mic mixer but a field recorder. But, it is so close to the "perfect" field recorder...
So I ask here, if there is a way to use real gain control 0 to 10 on channel 1 and 2 ?
This should be a real request reading the so many topics here about this "transparency".
May be a firmware upgrade ?
(sorry for my bad english...)
