Hi all, I saw someone seemingly post about this a few weeks ago and I can't remember where, I apologize.
I usually fill up the DP24 with mono tracks (so, only 18), and have not used virtual tracks yet (but I don't think that would be what I'm looking for). And sometimes I'll crave say 4-5 more tracks for BG vox, bed-organ or synth or whatever other flavors.
Does anyone dump all their tracks into the DAW, then go back to DP and re-record onto a bunch of tracks, to add more instruments, yet keep a few prior tracks for reference? (say, a loop as click or drums and one guitar and vox, etc).
I'm curious if people do this (I do think someone posted this exact approach), and do you just record over the original tracks, since you've already exported and 'safely' in your DAW.
What are some techniques you guys use?
thanks-
brian
