DX-4D DBX will not stay engaged/ stops passing audio. Solution Needed

I recently purchased a TASCAM DX-4D to interface w/ my TEAC A-3440 as RX-9s are scarce, and the problem I'm having is that the DX-4D works for only a few seconds after it's turned on; but, then soon after, the LEDs turn off, and it stops passing audio. Anyone here ever faced this issue, and if so, what did you do to resolve?

I believe you need to bypass the control signal inside the DX-4D.
