DP-32SD
Hello.
I have a DP32SD and I have a problem activating the 8 channels it supports.

It turns out that when I turn on the console, I start clicking on all the channels and sometimes they don't turn on the first time (I have to click on each channel several times)

But the problem is that channel 6 and 7, no matter how much I press the button, it does not turn red and therefore, that line cannot be used.

Do you know what it could be?
It is updated to the latest version.

Greetings and thanks.

Welcome to the forum. This sounds like the buttons need cleaning. They can start to go intermittent over time, depending on the environment and how you look after the machine. A small amount of switch cleaner should help. There are many posts about this so search for switch cleaner, e.g. this.

First of all, thank you very much for your reply.

Yes, I had read about that, but I had ruled it out for the following reasons...

Channel 6, for example, always turns on when you press it about three times. Channel 7 used to turn on without much trouble, and then suddenly it stopped turning on, even after pressing it 100 times.

That's why I ruled out dirt as the problem, since in that case the issue would be intermittent, and now it seems to be constant.

Anyway, I'll take your advice and try cleaning the contacts...

I'll let you know if it improves. Thanks.

I don’t wanna sound like I'm nitpicking, but you use the term inputs in the title and thereafter you use the term channels. The DP machines have inputs and tracks. The term channel is not used in the user manual nomenclature so while I think you’re talking about inputs because of the title, you talk about pressing a button on a channel, and I don’t know what that is, exactly.

You were referring to a channel 6 coming on when you press it three times. Press what? There is no ON button. That description could either be a Select button on a track, or an Assign button on an input. But a key piece of information is your reference to it turning red, so apparently you’re trying to press a Record button on a track and it's not registering.

Dirt is not a main factor of contamination normally. It’s almost always due to oxidation which can become constant. And even with dirt, you can’t make an arbitrary decision that it should be intermediate and not constant.

More than likely it comes down to contamination/oxidation on the switches. I had similar issues with my older DP–32 and contact cleaner solved them. Thanks.
