I purchased a 2488 via ebay. It's got issues (intermittant buttons and fader problems), the seller did the right thing and refunded me after I spent some time with contact cleaner trying to get the machine working. The buttons are still intermittant, but I think I could probably fix that given time. The fader issue is a bigger problem, and it would be a shame to bin the unit, if I can get this working I can at least give the seller something back.
Faders 9 onwards are not working at all, they seem to be linked to faders 1-8 (move 1, the value for fader 9 goes up a bit, move fader 2, fader 9 value goes up a little more). I found a thread on the web that said the same, thing, but there was no solution I found on the thread.
Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else? And hints/tips? I've already factory reset the unit, and tried 4 different CDs to reflash the firmware (it fails every time).
