Firmware Update and current projects

I see a new firmware update. My question, If you have current projects, a song not yet finished, will upgrading to the newer update cause any potential problems? Is it advised to complete the songs, then upgrade? Thank you...

Backup your projects. Upgrade the firmware and format the SD card with the new firmware. Copy your projects back to the SD card. Firmware upgrades are always a good practice and the sooner the better.
