FR-av2 SD questions

High! two questions, I'm a new FR-av2 owner. OK, three questions, am I in the right forum?
1) can I use a sdxc 1tb card with the FR-av2 now that they are out?
2) is there any advantage to using the much faster sdxc express cards, will the FR-av2 take advantage of the speed?

@snoolobster, welcome to the community. Yes, you're in the right forum.

I'm not an owner/user, so can't address #2. Re #1, if you refer to your owner manual's "Introduction/Using MicroSD Cards" section you'll find instructions for accessing the list of the most current SD Cards confirmed for use with your recorder.

I strongly recommend taking TASCAM at their word and use only the TASCAM tested/approved cards on that list.

If you bump around the forum, you’ll find countless posts describing problems that are revealed to have been caused by improper SD card choices/usage.

Save yourself the heartache - use the list. Period!

Specifications are not going beyond the 512Gb. Besides the fact that the track record of 1Tb cards is very bad. And if you plan even to use a 512Gb card, mind that it can hold a huge list of files which can be lost when the card stops functioning. Also it takes a lot of time to backup such cards. Far better is to use 64Gb or 128Gb, and if needed swap cards. In total it will be cheaper too, the 1Tb comes with a price. Be sure to format the cards IN the recorder!
