I bought this version this week. All Harrison plugins are now included, that's good.

If you have used the plugins, are these plugins effective?

I don't know if it's just me, it seems to me that it's easier to work by ear with equalizers, compressors and limiters.

I have Reaper but i try and experiment for a more intuitive and faster way to mix.

Hi Dan. I've been using Harrison's Mixbus D.A.W. since version 5, and am now using Mixbus 10.

The SOP I've settled on is a hybrid. I track either with a DP-24 or an analog tape recorder/reproducer; mix using Mixbus; and master either in Mixbus, the DP-24; or use a stand-alone mastering program, depending on circumstances.

I generally use the EQ, gating, compression and limiter integrated into each Mixbus channel strip, busses, and the master bus.

Harrison's integrated tools and proprietary XT plug-ins have been designed specifically for efficient/effective integration with the Mixbus engine. Harrison's AVA plug-ins were developed for use with other D.A.W.s; and having both in my tool kit, the on-board EQ, compression, gating, limiter, and the XT plug-ins are my go-to tools when mixing.

If you've happened to hear any of my client projects that I've posted over the last few years, they were all mixed using Mixbus. For me, it's the only D.A.W. I'll ever use for mixing, for all the reasons Harrison points out in the promotional material.

Thanks Mark. I find easy to use tools on each channel.

I will study the interface and plugins more. The multiband compressor seems interesting. A few months ago, I bought the Harrison 32Classic Channel Strip, I used it in Reaper and I don't like it. It's different as feeling (by ear) with the channels tools already integrated in Mixbus. It's true that XT plugins are good.
