Is it possible to hard reset a Model 24 that has become unstartable

Apparently this unit was interupted during a firmwear update and has become unstartable. If turned on the screen stays (lit but) blank. Is there any hope for us? or is it 2000 New Zealand dollars down the drain?

Turn it on while pressing and holding the jog wheel down aka “enter function”
