Hello,

There is a huge latency when sending a signal to an external hardware via SEND1 & 2 and return via analog input (reverb in my case)

Has someone already made some measurement ?

If not I will try this week !

I have observed this, but not pursued it. When I mixed an externally-compressed signal with the original, it has an unpleasant phase cancellation (comb filtering?) I assumed the latency was from the external device and not the DP.

I suppose one approach would be to record the wet returned signal on a track and edit to time correct it, if the delay is large enough to "slice."

Interested.

So i finally made a measurement of the latency : 1 ms (SEND + return), nothing wrong for digital converter ... there must be something wrong with my hardware fx :-)

Yep. I just did a quick audio test - the send/return loops between my DP-24, and my Digitech RP 360 and TC-Hellicon Voicetone Harmony - heard about a 1ms delay and a slight phasing. Hadn't noticed it before since I don't normally compare the source and FX signals dry and I always add a bit of delay and phase to the reverb anyway during mixdown.

The delay seems to be in the DP's D/A - A/D circuitry and software. I also can hear a very small delay using send 1 and the internal reverb with all Reverb settings except the output level set to zero.

I did my test at 16/44.1. At a higher sampling rate the delay may be less.
