M1 Mac with Sonoma

Hey all
I bought a 2nd hand dm4800 recently and it has a FireWire card. I’ve been mucking around for a while trying to get the card to lock but I just keep getting ‘bad channel count’ am I wasting my time with it or has anyone got any advice to get it running? I’ve been trawling the forums for updated drivers etc but no luck so far.

AFAIK idk if anyone's gotten an M1 mac to work with the FireWire card directly. There are workarounds like using an older computer connected to the firewire card then connecting your primary computer to the older computer, and using AVB/Dante to send/return audio between the computers.
