Mastering old recording

I have some recordings done on DAT. They were mixed down to CD but not mastered. Can I master them on the 2488? I have a DOT recorder and the remix master DATs in stereo. Can I use the digital audio inputs to record them and then master? I assume that I can't just use the CD. Any tips would be appreciated.

As you mention use the digital inputs to record the DAT to the neo. Then you can master in the 2488 using the mastering tools.
