message on screen

I have a DP008 and a message has appeared on the screen <Fx busy press HOME> which I cannot remove. I press the HOME button and it opens the MULTITRACK pager, but the message continues on the screen and will not aLLOW ME TO GO ELSEWHERE.

I can't even find what a DP998 is. But, can you reset it?

To borrow a phrase, mj, I'll bet you a bag of pucks that the OP intended to look up the error message in the "Troubleshooting" section of his/her owner manual; intended to type "DP-008"; and intended to post in the "Digital Pocketstudios and Compact Portastudios" forum and not this one. But didn't.

Unfortunately, that type of error message and lockup is never good news; but being a DP-24 user, I don't have a DP-008 owner manual, so can't say for sure.

Mark Richards..I did mistuype the model number. It is a DP008.
In your experience, do you think the cause is that I erased the SDCard and used it again without reformatting? I was only able to record 2 songs and then the message appeared.
