I'm curious about M-S recording with my DR-40 so I'm wondering if anyone has done it with a portable Tascam of any kind, or done M-S recording at all and found it useful.
Most of my interest would be in capturing live music up close with 1 to 3 performers who play acoustic electric guitars, sometimes flutes or fiddles, and sing in a small venue. I can place my Tascam right next to their music stands so no problem with being in tight. What I would expect to do is buy a large diaphragm Figure 8 condensor mic to go along with my existing cardioid condensor mic. But that's an expense I can do without if the effect of M-S is not worth the trouble.
