For about 18 years I have enjoyed my Tascam US-428 which is still working in Windows 10. I have not found any current devices that compare to it in functionality until learning about the Model 12. Only I do not need it for live recording or stand alone recording. Most likely 4 input interfaces today will have better preamps than the us428, but then I would need a separate control surface, as I have grown accustomed to the transport and volume controls I have now.
When considering the price of the Model 12 I wonder if the preamps really compare to those of Audient, SSL and the UA Volt. Also it looks like the extra features of the Model 12 that I will not likely use might make it more complicated to use for my purposes. My main use is to produce music in my home studio. Any one here that could advise me of the pros and cons of the Model 12 as basically a recording interface?
