Model 16 and DAW hissing LOUD noise

Model 16 and DAW: I recently acquired a Model 16. I even updated it to the latest firmware. I used it once with my DAW (Cubase 12) it seemed to work fine with no noticeable problems. The second day and third day using it: I noticed the Model 16 XLR outputs on the mixer are making an overly loud hissing noise when I arm them in Cubase. All of the 12 XLR are doing it. When I mute them in Cubase I didn’t hear it. When I tested, the quarter-inch connectors on the same tracks, it is not making that hissing noise there. However, the XLR when used on the Tascam mixer alone is not making the noise. I have trouble shooted this and determined that it is the XLRs. I am not using the Tascam Pre amp gain (it is at 0) I have external preamps that use. I also find that, the input from model 16 into Cubase volume overall is very low. I have tested this against my Presonus AR16c which is a lot louder with the inputs going into Cubase. I used same volume levels from my outboard gear on both.
