S/W V1.10 additions

- Buffer Size can now be set from 4 samples. (Windows only)

F/W V1.40 additions

- A mark function has been added that makes it easy to cue from any position in a song, for example.
- A function to output MIDI timecode to a computer connected by USB has been added.
- Songs created on a TASCAM Model 16 can now be loaded.
- The number of the effect being used is now shown at the top of the Home Screen.
- WAV files with bit lengths that are different from the song setting can now be imported.

[NOTE]
The mark function cannot be used with songs created on a Model 24 running firmware version 1.32 or older.

[CAUTION]
A song created on a unit that has been updated to V1.40 can be played on a unit running a firmware version 1.32 or older.
If recording or editing is necessary however, update that unit to firmware V1.40.

I was really excited about the new Mark feature, but I couldn't figure out how to enable it first. Turns out the instructions are in the Model 16 manual on page 45:

In order to set and clear marks, the Home Screen F4 button function must be switched from FX to MARK. 1. On the SYSTEM Screen, select KEY FUNCTION to open the KEY FUNCTION Screen. (See “Menu operation procedures” on page 28) 2. Press the MULTI JOG dial to open the F4 KEY Screen. 3. Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select MARK. 4. Press the MULTI JOG dial to confirm the setting. The KEY FUNCTION Screen reopens. NOTE When the F4 MARK button function has been changed, the built in effect can be turned on/off with the F3 button on the EFFECT Screen.
