Mx2424 and daw

Thanks for stepping in.
I got the MOTU Ultralite Mk4 and it DOES have midi.

Could you expound a bit on what I could hope to do
with the MX2424? Midi isn't my first language. '-)

hey bob i'm currently on this forum looking for help with the mx2424se i just got.
I don't know how to get it going as a converter or put things in record mode or how to monitor properly.
But as far as your case goes you can set up your daw to send midi clock to the mx2424 which has midi ports on the back.
You can also make the mx2424 the master and make your daw follow it's timecode if that is what you prefer.
Once you have them both synced you can record 8 tracks at a time from the mx2424 to your daw.
Currently I'm using the motu 24ao which gives me 24 channels i can record or playback at once.

I'll give it a go and thank you so much
for chiming in.

There are some really savvy MX2424 users on this forum and I'm sure
they'll be able to answer all of your questions. Right now I'm immersed in
getting up to speed with my new DAW software and trying to solve an issue
with the MOTU. Not sure I could be of sound help as it were.

I'll post here to let you know how I make out with the midi experiments
