BTW love the unit... and just clarify I record dawless :)

But I need some advice. I'm working on a reggae/tune for my buddy... My deadline is coming to and end... I only have maybe one more day of working time on this project... here is my situation.

I originally designed this song to make use of my RNC compressor (just got it, and never used it). But the song actually started to turn out pretty decent... and now my buddy wants it for a production show he does online.

With only a few days left to work on it... I need to lay down a bass track, and some guitar... currently I have completed the drums, horns, piano, and guitar solo... but I've started to run out of tracks... I'm going to have to bounce my drums (keeping bass drum seperate) onto one track.. in order to fit my guitar and bass track in.

I understand how compressors work, but how should I do this... should I bounce the drums to one track with the compressor? or wait till all my tracks are bounced, and then run them all through the compressor at one time?

This is not my exact map, but for example... eventually I'll bounce my drums, horns, and piano all to seperate individual tracks (this is just a rough map to give my example)... should I compress during the bounce, or just during the final mix?

Thanks

This is not really a Tascam DP question, but a general mixing technique question. You can do either way. Why dont you just save a copy of the song and try what you think sounds best.
