I am having an issue with my Tascam Porta 05 where tracks 2 and 4 are not functioning for recording or playback. When I plug a microphone into any channel and pan it hard right, I can see the Right VU meter moving, but I hear absolutely no sound in the right side of the headphones. I have tested this with a standard stereo cassette in REMIX mode, and it only plays back through the left side (tracks 1 and 3); the right side remains completely silent.
The problem seems to be a total break in the Right Bus signal path between the mixer and the tape head. The signal is reaching the meters, but it is not reaching the headphones or being printed to the tape. If anyone has any guess please lmk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
